Big news! Meego today release a developer version for Nokia N900!

That all being said, straight from MeeGo.com :

Today is the culmination of a huge effort by the worldwide Nokia and Intel teams to share the MeeGo operating system code with the open source community. This is the latest step in the full merger of Maemo and Moblin, and we are happy to open the repositories and move the ongoing development work into the open – as we set out to do from the beginning.

What are we opening? The MeeGo distribution infrastructure and the operating system base from the Linux kernel to the OS infrastructure up to the middleware layer. The MeeGo architecture is based on a common core across the different usage models, such as netbooks, handheld, in-vehicle, and connected TV. The MeeGo common core includes the various key subsystems including the core operating system libraries, the comms and telephony services, internet and social networking services, visual services, media services, data management, device services, and personal services. More on this will be described on meego.com over the next few days.

The downloaded images will boot from a USB stick or directly flashed on the device from your Linux PC, but since the MeeGo User Experiences for the usage models mentioned previously are not yet included in today’s MeeGo core, these images will boot into terminal.
After Day 1, the rest will follow soon – in the next few days, we will post the next steps leading to the first release of MeeGo in May.

For normal users, we not suggest to try this version, there's no GUI, only terminal controls only. It will cause deadly damage to your phone, if you're clear about this and still want to install this image, you can follow the instruction from MeeGo wiki.

The rule is close to Peg solitaire. Your aim is to clear all the checkers on the screen. A valid move is to jump a checker orthogonally over an adjacent checker into a hole two positions away and then to remove the jumped checker.

The theme is called AZ, means from A to Z, styled from the very famous movie called Matrix, and it's a theme tested on 2 real N900 phones with two different os version, and proved to be excellent, just as all MMMOOO Premium Themes. The theme mainly cover two issues, the cool and nice background, wallpaper and menu buttons, colors and highlights, in harmony well, not as free themes which have bugs as not good contrasting in text, font, highlights... We just not include our cool S60 theme's icons set in this AZ Theme, mainly considering your fast familiar with your new N900 , and you wont spend long time in this. Later, we will migrate some very classical Nokia icons in new themes. The price is USD 3.99.

Here is our tested method to install themes on N900 smoothly:

• download the .deb on your pc and transfer it N900's root folder
• in the X Terminal run: sudo gainroot
• then run: dpkg -i MyDocs/***.deb
• go to Settings-Themes choose the installed theme

Caution: the commands is capital sensitive in Maemo os, so plz not type MyDocs into mydocs as so on. In most time for N900, when changing a theme to another theme, the UI and system layout will be not totally be replaced, so a reboot is needed for your enjoy of the all new just installed theme.

As Nokia Ovi Store adds N900 support today, MMMOOO is also going to release our first premium theme for Nokia N900. This theme is almost finished now and will soon get available at Nokia Ovi Store with 1.99 Euro.

There're only few free themes, apps and games available for download there now. Most are free, so can download it easily. As a premium provider on  Ovi, users will soon catch us on Ovi Store.

• The best phone ever, i m using all the nice phone such as iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian, and N900 is just the very similar phone as Mac os, and the best in operation and cool! more like Apple Mac os as iPhone(the multi screen and space effect). You know it's Linux based.
• The best mobile browser ever, you see it loads with full flash content and css style in our blog page
• The most stunning phone to inspire me, i have just saw and use iPhone, BB, N97, G1 much, all of them are bored, N900 is just charms me so much
• The phone till now i found no cons as ever i tried with other phones will soon find out the cons.
