BlackBerry is a high secured mobile system, all your personal information, mails, contacts, browser history, will be erased when someone (includes yourself) tried certain times to unlock it (if password set) with a wrong password. If you wanna erase everything when you sell your BlackBerry to someone, follow these steps:
- Go to: Options - Security Options - General Settings.
- Select "Wipe Handheld" from menu.
- You will get a warning, confirm it. Your BlackBerry will be totally clean several minutes later.
There's some other tips to keep your phone secured in daily use:
- Set a password there, and a security timeout.
- Protect files on memory card from: Options - Media Card - Encryption Mode. The memory card will be unreadable even if plugged to other devices.

Will the BlackBerry really erase your information or is it bluffing? I'm scared that if I type the wrong password it will erase everything...
